A series of events happened on that faithful 16th of September 2008.
Some related, some unrelated.
Unrelated would have to be the joke about Anwar swearing in as Prime Minister in his house with rumors going around, saying that something will happen this coming Friday and Malaysia will be governed by a different leader then.
Another unrelated would be, Thaksin’s in-law, caused a rift in PPP regarding his nomination as the next Prime Minister of Thailand.
As for related, it’s a jumble of everything and some to be remembered more than others.
What happened yesterday;
1. I discovered that it is possible for two people to dream about the same thing and be at the place at the same time, together. I suppose dreams aren’t just simply dreams nor just your own but something completely unexplainable.
2. I had a deja vu and I remembered this one distinctively because I mentioned it to a friend and it happened yesterday. Word for word. The place, the drama, the event.
3. I was told off by a certain gentleman because of a careless mistake that my Head did. A brief on Thailand but a country map of the Philippines! How the heck did that happen??!!!
4. I discovered what I would turn out like if I do become a mother one day and that was not a pretty sight. Why? I am a whole lot more like my mother than I think!!!
5. Susy, a friend from my previous job, told me that her husband had passed away suddenly, yesterday without any warning. He was diagnosed with cancer a few months back. Every time I asked her about her husband and her 8 month old baby, she would show me pictures and tell me things are okay and was doing all that she can to help her husband. This was the same man I saw 4 months back (who already had cancer than but none of us knew) who cooked and prepared a meal for us Prestige and ex-Prestige girls. Today all the girls are going to be there for Susy and her husband’s cremation. Reason for the one day, rather hasty ceremony;
a. Susy is Muslim. She may not look like it thanks to her Chinese father but she is Malay thanks to her mother. (I didn’t know she was Malay when I first met her because she introduced herself as Susy Lee. Back than, it wasn’t compulsory for any Chinese to change their surnames when they marry a Muslim)
b. Susy’s husband converted for her. It was all for show and only a ceremony but they led a very Chinese life.
c. Before they report and announce his death officially, Susy, his family and her family wants to give him a Chinese burial instead of a Muslim one, hence the overnight ceremony.
I am only sorry that I can’t be there for her today.
Oh how eventful and memorable the 16th of September will be.
