Sentidos Tapas

I’VE GROWN FAT!!!! I AM A BLIMP!!!!! WOE ME!!!!

All thanks to zero exercise and constant consumption of unnecessary fat!!!!

GAH I ONLY HAVE MYSELF TO BLAME!!!!

How did I make myself feel better about moi? I decided to just go ahead and eat some more -_-”

I was out with Richard the other day and we decided to stop by at Starhill. He was hungry. I wasn’t. Since it was raining outside, there were only so many place that we can eat.

We decided to settle for spanish food so we went to Sentidos Tapas.

Now my relationship with Sentidos Tapas is a little nostalgic. I use to head there often due to my previous job. Clients would go there to have their wine and cheese and I would be joining them. I dined there a few times but I can’t seem to remember what was so spectacular about it that made everyone go there to dine. So I suppose it wasn’t a bad idea to head back there and check the food out again.

The first dish that was served to us was;

Fried Squid

When it comes to fried squid, it can never ever go wrong. This was good and I ate most of it. Richard had a tough time fighting me for his share =). Then came the;

Grilled Aubergine

When this first came out, it tasted absolutely revolting. It was sour. It was burnt. It was bitter. We had to return this and asked if it was suppose to be like that. Answer: NO! The chef had to make us another one and when it came back out, it was so much better. It was actually tasty and the use of chilli oil was a great idea. However, the damage for this dish for done and I will never order this again. This dish had also disappointed me and it had made me think twice about the quality of the restaurant in the very “prestigious” Starhill.

Next came the;

Baked Potato with Seafood.

I think before I say anything about this dish, I must apologise for the photo quality. Had no idea it was that fuzzy =p. Right back to the dish. I enjoy baked potato skin but this was only OKAY! I can’t say that I was thrilled after eating it and it was only so-so. Another let down. Sigh!!!!

I was about to give up hope with the rest of the tapas since the quality was only average but the fourth dish lifted my tastebuds up a little. It was the;

Tortilla with Spinach and Jalapeno

I still enjoyed this. This was one of my favorites. The jalepeno made a big difference to this rather dull dish. It was actually enjoyable and I would probably go back to Sentidos just for this. As my spirit and tastebuds were lifted, I looked forward to the following;

Sauteed Assorted Mushroom

THIS WAS YUCKS!!! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!!! I love my mushrooms but this was absolutely horrid. They ruined the actual essence of the mushroom and the taste was just disasterous. It left a disturbing, unsettling, failure in my mouth. I was so disappointed.

I told Richard I doubt I could actually face the next dish but since it involved cheese, maybe. Just maybe.

It was the;

Feta Cheese

I was sooooo happy again when I ate this. Richard found the cheese a little too strong for him but I love love love love …… H E A R T……. it completely!! Instead of crying tears of sadness, I was already crying tears of joy.

I was enjoying this so much that I failed to notice this came out;

Grilled Spicy Prawns

I ate one and gave the rest to Richard. Enough said!

Then finally, out came our;

Paella

I love paella but I wasn’t exactly crazy about this.

Overall the restaurant was a huge letdown. You would think that since it’s in Starhill, it should be good but it sucked big time. I’ve eaten in so many Spanish restaurant and Sentidos Tapas is SO NOT a Spanish restaurant. Completely regretted dining there. I may have enjoyed the Feta Cheese and the Tortilla with Spinach and Jalapeno but that’s that. I would not recommend Sentidos Tapas to anyone. Please if you want tapas, just go to Marketplace.

I was so depress with the food that even Richard noticed it and found it hilarious. He took a picture showing how frustrated and sad I was.

Instead of having dessert in Sentidos Tapas, Richard thought it would be best if we went over to Ritz for my Apple Struddle. While we were there, I had to buy marshmallows. I am a sucker for them and I love it because it’s so colourful. I didn’t open it until we were in the car. I just had to have it!!!

After popping a few of these darlings into my mouth I was a happy bunny again. No more Sentidos Tapas for me again hmph!

E
