The other day, I went to Sri Ayutthaya in Damansara Heights to eat because I felt like having Thai food. Of course it was also a certain someone’s birthday so it was more his choice than mine!
Sri Ayutthaya’s Thai food ain’t all that bad. It’s probably one of the best Thai restaurant around though I am willing to be corrected if someone points out another great place to eat.
I was so hungry that night and acted all bratty like by insisting that we order something but Mr Birthday told me to go order a drink first! And so I did. I ordered a;
Lychee – Coconut Smoothie Something!
Yah, yah, I don’t know what it’s called but it is some lychee-coconut something and it taste good. Very very refreshing.
Here’s another picture of my drink with a white chrysanthemum.
I know it’s random but I think the chrysanthemum was just stunning!
15 minutes later, when I wasn’t allowed to order anything because we were waiting for Mr Birthday’s guests to come, I was whining and moaning begging to be fed otherwise just feed me to the lions to finish me off and spare me the excruciating torture. Mr Birthday gave in and told me that I was only allowed to order one dish and that’s that.
I quickly waved my armed like a mad woman to get the waiter’s attention.
I told the waiter what I wanted and wanted it fast if he wish to avoid any unpleasant scenario like a dying hungry woman. Man, it came out fast alright. I asked for;
This was good and it was different because there was a tinge of lemon to it. Very different from the usual fried squid you order outside. My greedy self ate the whole thing and yelled at Mr Birthday for helping himself. Besides, why should I share when he tortured me?
When Mr Birthday guests came, I was already thanking god. I took the menu and practically yelled on top of my lungs for the waiter to come take our order and order I DID!
For starters, I asked for;
This was a whole lot spicier than I thought. I bit into so many cili padis that I kept drinking one glass of water after another. Soon after, the meals arrived.
First to come was the;
So good. So sour and so so spicy. So perfect and god it really whet my appetite!
Then came the;
and
It took a while for the rice to arrive so I was fidgeting in my chair the whole time, desperately wanting to eat. I shot Mr Birthday a look, telling him that I was one unhappy girl and I will have him slaughtered soon if he doesn’t feed ME, HIS MOST IMPORTANT GUEST!
Mr Birthday just ignored moi! Blasphemy!!!!
When I was about to reach for the fork, out came the;
I was already salivating and was about to reach for the spoon to help myself until the waiter came and served us the;
GREEN THAI CURRY!!! YAYYYYY!!!
and
I had to eat! I was on the verge of madness! IT WAS ALL TOOO IRRESISTIBLE AND THE AROMA, THE SCENT, THE DIVINE FRAGRANCE, IT WAS SINGING TO ME. CALLING ME TO EAT, EAT, EAT!!!!
I was about to to yell at Mr Birthday for tormenting me until he said, let’s eat!
EAT I DID! I HELPED MYSELF AND ALL TABLE MANNERS WERE FORGOTTEN. I ATE LIKE AN UNTRAINED APE THAT JUST CAME OUT OF THE JUNGLE! IT WAS SO GOOD. SO DELICIOUS. SO ABSOLUTELY ORGASMIC THAT I FOUND MYSELF IN HEAVEN!
Then the final dish came out,
*Grovel Homer Simpson Style*. This was sooooooooo, I don’t know. It’s not divine. It’s not orgasmic. It’s not wonderful. It was just perfect!!!! Sighhhhh! The sourness, the assamness, the juicness and tenderness of the fish. OH MYYYY!
When we were done, more like when I was done, I was one happy girly with a big big tummy. I rubbed it with satisfaction and my tummy thanked me by gurggling! It was definately enjoyable though I can’t say the same for Mr Birthday’s company. After all that he had put me through, I am never ever gonna wanna go out with him hungry ever again!

I went to Sri Ayutthaya in Alamanda yesterday. You are right, the Tom Yam was so perfect and it was really good. I ordered:-
Fried squid – Just nice
sizzling honey chicken – it was great, hot and spicy
Fish sweet sour sauce – its was ok, but the sauce was just
normal.
kailan Veg satled – ok,
Pineapple fried rice – it was good
Pandan Leave Chic – i wont order it on my next trip.
Mango Honey Lemon – Just perfect.
Overall i think the food was great, tom yam was the best of all. Price its a bit expensive. But, its totally worth it, if you choose the right food.
Thanks weavingtales for the posting. Looking forward for your next recommendation.
