Datuk Seri Chua Soi Lek & his sex scandal

Above is our dear Health Minister’s confession that he is the man in the DVD who was having sex with the woman, and I quote, a “personal friend” (mistress more like it) in a hotel room.

I liked how “bananachinese” made a little humour out of Chua Soi Lek’s scandal by calling him “the naughty boy“. I mean a little tinge of humour is always good to take away note of seriousness when it comes to scandals.

Before his confession, I already knew it was him on New Year’s Eve. I was sent an SMS, telling me that our dear doctor was the man in the saucy vid. So learning the news today wasn’t really such a big deal. Honestly, knowing it or not, still isn’t a big deal to me.

So what if he is a politician, a minister or a man with influence and doing what he did was just inappropriate. It’s his private life and those people who deliberately had it filmed should really burn in hell for trying to get a few dosh out of it. I mean we only deemed the act unfitting because we are only stereotyping the politicians to how we want them to be. A real pity is it not?

There is nothing wrong with stereotyping politicians however we must bear in mind that when we stereotype them, we must stereotype them for the right reason. Meaning a politician is there to represent the public, to voice our concerns, to be our voice and to do the right thing. If the politician does no such thing, we can always create havoc for him or her. I think for this, there is nothing wrong with setting a standard image for any politicians out there, however their private lives should be left out in the political field.

But since politics is all about playing dirty, voting and poll rates, I suppose any deep, dark, dirty secrets will do. Just as long as it is enough to sabotage a certain target.

If Chua Soi Lek wasn’t a politician and continued to have this affair with his friend, no one would have bothered. Come to think about it, his affair may not even leak out.It’s wrong because we want it to be wrong.

It’s wrong because we say it’s wrong. It’s wrong because he’s suppose to set a good example and have an impeccable image with all his skeletons tossed in his hidden cupboard somewhere.

Personally, I think it’s wrong only because he cheated on his wife and lied to his family.

At the end of the day, no one is perfect. Besides, has anyone seen the doctor’s wife yet. I haven’t seen the other woman in his life but after looking at his wife, can you really blame him for having an affair? OK DON’T CRUCIFY ME FOR TYPING THAT DOWN. I WAS ONLY KIDDING!

I know that I should boo and bash the doctor on this , especially since he’s made plenty of stupid comments in the past and acted so unprofessionally, but I am not.

I do feel sorry for the fella and if I am really going to condemn him, I am going to condemn him for his political actions, his irksome statements and his reliability as a politician.

To find fault in him as a politician for this just isn’t right or worth it.
